Gas Water Separators

Separators are pressure tanks that separate the output fluids of oil wells, which are usually twophase (oil and gas and sometimes three-phase, such as oil and gas and water or oil and gas and sandstone).
In the separation operation, the mixture of materials in solid, liquid, and gas states are separated from each other. Still, this operation in separators usually means separating gas from liquid. Sometimes, in different parts, according to the needs of the units, the input raw gas may have a mixture of water, oil, and solids, and it is necessary before these mixtures are subjected to operation to be separated from the gas; that's why they use water-gas separators.
and petrochemical industry, three types of water-gas separators are used (spherical, vertical, and horizontal), and here we will explain the horizontal water-gas separator.

Horizontal separators

Horizontal separators are cylindrical and are installed horizontally.
The mixture of gas and liquid enters the separator from one side and moves along the chamber.
The gas exits the other side of the separator after leaving the impurities. The speed of the gas entering the horizontal separator is reduced due to the large internal space and the long path of fluid movement. This causes the separation of impure materials due to the force of gravity.
